As part of this information accurate effort and up the need to date maintain an awareness of the need for aviation oxygen equipment , AVOX Systems participates on is involved with a number of committees of and organizations that develop standards and regulations for the use of oxygen equipment use on aircraft. . One of these standard organizations is SAE International. The use and installation of oxygen equipment, as well as information on the physiological need needs for oxygen at altitude or for hypoxia protection, are covered.

Another website for publications that include the physiological effects of the aviation environment is the Civil Aerospace Medical Institute Library. This site contains which has the Civil Aerospace Medical Institute publications (Technical Reports, Federal Air Surgeons Medical Bulletins and Pilot Safety Brochures covering a wide range of topics).


Aviation Oxygen compressed gas containers

The Compressed Gas Association (CGA) develops and publishes technical information, standards and recommendations on handling, storage and use of industrial gases, including oxygen. The CGA Publication Locator will assist you in finding all the CGA's publications.


DOT regulations per CFR 49 (regarding shipping of containers of Oxygen as a compressed gas and Chemical Oxygen Generators)

Special shipping regulations apply to the shipment of containers of compressed Oxygen and Chemical Oxygen Generators and equipment or devices containing either form of oxygen. Shipment of these items in the United States and shipments into the United States must be made in strict accordance with the United States Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 49. Other requirements may apply in other countries. It is the responsibility of the person offering an item for shipment to comply with all applicable requirements.
